The Product
Our main product is workshop, which is a term that we have coined together to describe the teaching style that The Maths Workshop specialises in.

Workshop
In each workshop group there are 5 students with a single teacher responsible for that group, thus a student teacher ratio of 5 to 1 is in place. The students sit in their own closed off environment (a cubicle), thereby not being disturbed by the other students in the venue. In this framework supervised tuition is held whereby instruction, direction is given. Work covered in class is matched or alternatively areas that are problematic. All the work is covered from The Maths Workshops prescribed textbooks which is of the highest standards
Teachers continuously engage with the students to make sure they are solving problems in the correct way and showing understanding of the concepts. This encourages and allows the students to build their confidence and to shows them they can do the work on their own.

Privates – 1 on 1 lesson
Subjects offered are: Maths, Science, and Add Maths
A suitable tutor needs to be found for the student,
Private lessons can take the form of ‘workshop’, whereby the student wanting private lessons can include up to 3 other people in his/her group. All 4 students must be attending the same school and must be on the same Grade (HG/SG) and at the same part of the syllabus..

Our Intention
We intend to give every learner the opportunity to gain from the combination of an up-to-date and elegant syllabus, a warm and healthy environment and a host of dedicated and trained tutors, who all share the idea of giving learners an insight into the everyday value of mathematics, while helping them attain the skills to produce maximum grades.

Our Syllabus
The notes for each grade have been endorsed by Sheryl Benjamin, a chief examiner for Matric final examinations with over 30 years of hands on Maths teaching experience. Each student will receive a complete set of notes, proof booklets, exam preparation modules and complete worked solutions for all exercises.

The Learning Experience
Our centre is new, modern and comfortable. Each learner has their own space where they can concentrate on their work with the aid and close supervision of a tutor. In mathematics, continuous practice is invaluable and therefore time in centre is utilized by exercise and attention to problem areas.
With ongoing practice outside the school classroom, budding mathematicians have an opportunity to excel and to boost their confidence. The Tutors and learners themselves are involved in continuous assessment and tracking of the progress made, based on a set of goals established by the learner as a bench-mark for his or her progress.
The tutors and teachers are all Maths graduates with teaching experience. We appreciate that mathematics needs to be taught in a specific way as preparation for the exams and our teachers and tutors are aware of these requirements.
Anybody who has ever struggled with mathematics will know that achieving results requires much practice and as much exposure to many and varied questions as possible. It is an excellent enrichment exercise that produces tangible benefits in the classroom.
